International Curriculum Bridge

Curriculum Overview

Grades 9–12

For students in Grades 9–12, Forward International Academy (FIA) delivers a rigorous American college-preparatory curriculum through its advanced Learning Management System. The program offers standard course options across all core and non-core subject areas, supported by a collegiate-level, accredited curriculum aligned with U.S. academic benchmarks. Coursework is fully customizable, allowing adjustments based on each student’s prior knowledge, academic background, and existing credit profile.

In addition to core subjects, students may enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses and pre-college programs aligned with higher education partners. Learners are also encouraged to pursue individualized projects connected to personal interests, community engagement, or global causes, promoting experiential and purpose-driven learning. Upon successful completion, FIA graduates are eligible to access US University Pathways scholarship opportunities, supporting progression to partner colleges and universities.

Grades 6–8

For students in Grades 6–8, FIA provides comprehensive instruction across all core and non-core subjects through the same online learning platform. Instruction in English and Mathematics may be supplemented with adaptive learning tools to strengthen foundational skills where needed. Each student follows a personalized learning plan that determines the depth, pace, and scope of coursework, as well as opportunities to engage in independent or project-based learning.

As with the upper grades, curriculum plans at the middle school level are flexible and customizable, allowing academic content to be adjusted according to a student’s existing skills, learning needs, and academic readiness.

Adaptive Learning Model

FIA courses are primarily asynchronous and fully adaptive, enabling students to learn at a pace appropriate to their individual abilities and schedules. Clear pacing guides and progress indicators help students and parents track academic progress and remain aligned with course completion timelines. Grades and instructor feedback are provided directly through the Learning Management System and FIA academic staff. Live instructional sessions or academic support meetings may be scheduled as needed for additional guidance, enrichment, or acceleration.

Student schedules and course loads are structured around a personalized graduation plan, developed collaboratively by learning coaches, FIA academic staff, parents, and students.

Unlimited Course Access

FIA supports a full academic schedule that includes both core and elective courses. Students may access a wide range of standard courses within the same tuition structure during any academic term, allowing for academic exploration, enrichment, or accelerated learning without additional enrollment barriers.

Keys to Academic Success

Across all grade levels, FIA coursework is intentionally designed to be 30–50% more rigorous than traditional academic programs. Students and families receive consistent visibility into academic progress, expectations, and performance benchmarks. Each learner is supported by a dedicated academic team that can adjust pacing, depth, and instructional strategies based on individual progress.

Proctored examinations are required in many courses to earn academic credit at the high school level or to achieve a passing grade in Grades 6–8. Exam retakes are permitted when necessary to support mastery. Students who commit to 45–60 minutes of focused study per subject per day demonstrate significantly higher academic success rates, typically achieving grades of B or above.
